Bedale Sports Club and Community Centre is appealing for community support following two devastating break-ins in May. Thieves stole essential grounds maintenance equipment, including a compact tractor with grass mower, and severely damaged a triple mower. The annual Bedale Sports Club and Community Centre inter-club sports quiz was won for the third year in succession by the Bedale Tennis Club. Organised by association chairman Martyn Coombs, the quiz runs over 5 Friday evenings and this year was the closest finish ever with three teams in the running to win, going into the last round. A total of 12 solar panels have been installed to the roof of the Bedale Athletic Sports Club and Community Centre.
It is estimated the panels will save around £2,370 in the first year with the payback estimated to be six years.
