Welcome to Bedale Athletic Sports Association – BASA
Situated on the A684, less than half a mile outside the historic market town of Bedale, Bedale Athletic Sports Association, or BASA as it is known, provides a home to a wide range of local sports clubs. Further details of which can be found here.
We have a large function room with licensed bar facilities which is available for hire to the general public. There is ample car parking on site.

Will Abbotson was a local lad who attended Bedale High School and played for Bedale Juniors FC, Bedale Reserves, Bedale FC, Bedale Academy, Masham FC and Henley's FC. Sadly, Will was involved in a fatal road traffic accident on December 5, 2011, aged 23. The family kindly dedicated a cup to be played for annually between clubs that Will represented. Unfortunately, one of the previous winners has lost the cup so Bedale AFC have replaced the trophy, which will remain behind the bar at the sports club.

At the present time, the clubhouse is using just over 1kW of electricity with over half of it (0.599kW) coming from the sun/solar panels and the rest (0.446kW) from the national grid and it’s not even a very sunny day. Excess energy created by the sun which we don’t use, is stored in the batteries in the bar cellar which currently have 18% stored electricity. Hopefully our energy bills will be reduced over time and we are also doing our bit for the planet and reducing our carbon footprint.

Work has started today on tiling both squash changing shower areas in readiness for privacy screens being installed later this week. More improvements at the Bedale Sports Club and Community Centre.
The club is looking fantastic tonight set up for the Bedale Cricket Club Dinner and Presentation Evening 🏆🏏
Our overspill changing room Portacabin looks fine, as does the close up of the lock. You can’t quite see but I managed to snap the key inside the lock so thanks to Kevin Burrill locksmith for coming out and sorting for me. I can’t even get the roadside board right.
